Community

Body Heat Hot Pilates & Yoga believes in giving back to our local community as much as possible.  Every Saturday Trace Taylor, an instructor from Body Heat, teaches yoga at The Shade Tree, a homeless shelter for abused and homeless women and chilren.

We also support many local charitable causes, however the management team serves on The Board of Directors of The Shade Tree and raises over $120,000 a year for the organization through fund raising with the Friends of Shade Tree.  Since 1990 The Shade Tree has served homeless and abused women and children, victims of domestic violence, victims of street violence, female veterans, and homeless youth and physically disabled.  Using programs offered by The Shade Tree women can rebuild their lives by finding employment, secure permanent housing and become productive member of the community.

The Shade Tree is the only 24-hour accessible shelter designed specially to meet the needs of women and children in Southern Nevada.  With 364 permanent beds and 50 temporary beds, The Shade Tree is the largest of it’s kind.  They provide some 80,000 nights of shelter each year.

All services are completely free of charge, regardless of the lenth of stay.  For more information on The Shade Tree please go to www.theshadetree.org.
